Richard A Kincaid, 85 years, husband of Audrey M (Jenner) Kincaid, died peacefully Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in York Maine. Born and raised in Amesbury, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Foster L and Helen (Earl) Kincaid.

Richard started working at age 12 with a paper route often riding 8 to 11 miles each day on his bicycle. At 15 he became one of the youngest Hutman in the Appalachian Mountain Club, hired by the infamous Joe Dodge. He worked at Tuckerman’s Ravine, Pinkham Notch and Zealand Falls Hut. In 1953, Dick entered the US Air Force and he graduated in the Officer Class of 1954. In August 1954 he earned his Navigator Wings and then continued on to fly for the US Air Force for 11 years. He became an intercept officer in the backseat of an F-94 Starfire fighter at Otis Air Force Base between 1954-1957. He returned to school and graduated in the class of 1958N and pinned on pilot wings on September of 1958. Became a pilot for KC-97s at Pease Air Force Base and a KC-135 refueling tanker pilot at Warner Robbins (Georgia) Air Force Base. In November 1963, he left the US Air Force and became an agent for Allstate Insurance where he continued to work for 39 years. He was the owner and President of Kincaid Insurance Agency in Goffstown New Hampshire between 1993 and 1998.

Richard had a long history of service to the community, having been involved with the Order of DeMolay, a vestry member for St. Mathew’s Episcopal Church, a Paul Harris Fellow with the Rotary Club, Chair of the Goffstown Zoning Board, Chair of the Girl Scout Nominating and Board Development Committee’s, as well as Board Member. Dick loved to surprise people by being a proud lifetime member of the Girl Scouts.

Richard is survived by his 10 children and stepchildren, his 12 grandchildren. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, his sister, Elizabeth Sawyer and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers George and William.

Services will be held 1pm Monday November 12th at St. Mathews Episcopal Church Goffstown NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Girl Scouts GWM, 1 Commerce Drive, Bedford NH 03110.
