Thanks to the generosity of Huts Manager Mike Kautz, we have arranged for the 75th anniversaries of Zealand and Galehead Huts to be celebrated on the last weekend of June 2007. There are 36 bunks at Zealand and 38 at Galehead, and they are reserved for OH Association members and guests until May 29. (After that, any remaining bunks will be made available to the public.)

The anniversaries will be celebrated at Zealand on Friday, June 29 and at Galehead on Saturday, June 30. Members/guests are invited to spend the night (at either Hut, or at both) or just to visit for the day. BYOB, but appetizers will be available at each hut. Anniversary festivities (including a suitably posed group photo) will begin at 2PM each day.

Overnight Rates: Zealand $63.42 adult, $38.39 child; Galehead $68.71 adult, $42.17 child. Overnight reservations can be made directly with the AMC Reservations Office (603-466-2727). State that you are making the reservation under Group File 78578 (75th Hut Anniversary - OH). The overnight cancellation policy allows a full refund until May 29; a 70% refund for cancellations between May 29 and June 15; and no refund thereafter.

This is sure to be a very popular weekend, so don't delay. Even if your plans are tentative, there is no risk until May 29 to making a reservation now. Although we like the public, it would be nice to take over each Hut for ourselves and not have to share it.
