Photos by Jim Hamilton Over thirty OH gathered at Carter Sunday September 12, blessed with beautiful weather. Some came via the Wildcat River Trail from the Carter Notch Road--Joe Gill, friend Virginia Kelly, the Waddells--Kristin, Mike and son Ben--the Baldwin clan of Sally, Ned and son Sam. Most came on the Nineteen Mile Brook trail packing the dinner's fresh and a case of imported wine. Jed Davis came via the Imp. Great to have former hut managers Bruce (and Mary) Sloat and Mike Waddwll there together with former executive director Tom Deans. Has anyone seen Dick Stetson? He was last seen going off to search for the ice caves. A pasta dinner was prepared by organizer Betsy Fowler, Saundra and Michael Cohen with able assistance from Hank Parker and Jim Argentati. Those brownies with the chocolate melted topping were to die for. Peter Baldwin,HM Carter 1948,came with wife Carolyn and regailed us with Joe Dodge stories after dinner. J Brian Wentzell provided the musical accompaniment. Day trippers included Willy Ashbrooke, Dulcie Heiman, Sue and John Gross, Jeff Leich and Nick Howe. Mike Waddell, John Lamanna and Mark Hitchcock stayed for dinner and brownies before departing with headlamps. This was the second year of OH night in a hut which is proving popular. Mark next summer Saturday August 13 on your calendar when Greeneleaf will celebrate it's 75th anniversary and will be set aside entirely for OH. Details will be posted on our website and printed in the winter and spring Resuscitators. ![]() Andy McLane and Sally Baldwin ![]() Bruce Sloat and Joe Harrington ![]() Carolyn Baldwin and Norma Hart Anderson ![]() John Lamanna ![]() Mike Dudley and Steve Neubert ![]() Gerry Whiting and J Bryan Wentzell |
